When Katlyn contacted me to plan her engagement shoot she was hoping for a winter wonderland session- due to my upcoming maternity leave in the end of November, we were on a bit of a time crunch to get her and Ryan’s photos done before baby #2 comes! We planned our shoot for the beginning of November- hoping for a Minnesota miracle of snow (perhaps the only time I’ve ever actually wished for snow!!) and unfortunately we didn’t get the snow by the time the shoot came; but luckily we planned the session at Hansen Tree Farm because despite a time when most of the state vegetation is looking brown, dead and down-right unattractive- most Christmas Tree Farms in the state still possess a romantic, natural and cozy/festive atmosphere!
These two just radiate happiness and their little fur babies were a wonderful addition to the shoot!

I always ask clients to choose their engagement session location because I want it to be some place that reflects their personal style! Kenzie and Blake chose Lyndale Rose Park Gardens by Lake Harriet in Minneapolis for their engagement photos! This has probably been one of my favorite locations to shoot at this summer because of the variety of scenery- we walked around the gardens and even ended up by the lake- I'm a sucker for romantic outdoor engagement photos and these two nailed it!
